What is an RSS/XML feed?
RSS feeds allow you to quickly download news from a web site. An RSS reader works very much like an e-mail program with subject lines and body text for each topic. Many modern browsers are starting to implement RSS readers. You can also use a separate program such as the excellent freeware RSS Reader.
The beauty of RSS is that you can scan what's new on all your favorite sites in one click! RSS is also a great way to keep from having to subscribe to newsletters and e-mail lists. You pull in the content, instead of the web site pushing it on you.
Podcasts are also XML feeds, except that they contain audio (or video) in place of of text stories. Juice (freeware) is an excellent podcast receiver.
