Cheryl (November 19, 2006)
I know several of you who had consultations this past week mentioned that you'd like to have someone sing Ave Maria and/or the Lord's prayer at your wedding ceremony. This Sunday there is an excellent opportunity to hear Cheryl (pictured above) sing. She and I will be doing 5 or 6 songs at St. Luke United Methodist at 7PM (www.stlukeumc.org -it's on Alumni Drive close to New Circle Road). The service is a music-only celebration to commemorate St. Luke's 30th anniversary. There will be a good variety of music including a choir and Cheryl will be performing her signature piece Out of the Storm which was written after she relocated here from Katrina. Hope to see you there! -kev

New photographer (November 13, 2006)
A couple of weeks ago Barry and Barno (Oct 15 Bellhouse wedding reception / solo piano/dj) brought their photos over. Stunning images from Mike. More info is here... view page »

Sat and Sunday (November 06, 2006)
Congrats to Jenny and John who were married on Saturday at the Berry Hill Mansion in Frankfort! On Sunday, Hayden Dudley sang at Madison Hills for the morning services. Very powerful. Later that afternoon, Elaine Cook delivered an amazing performance in honor of her mother who recently passed away. The recital was held at Christ Church Cathedral. Here are a few stills taken from the videos: view page »

If you are a member of the Throughbred Club at Keeneland, join us after the fall meet tonight (10/21/06). Our jazz duo will be playing from 5-7 pm (members only please).

Congrats to Brandy, Nick, Barno and Barry! (October 20, 2006)
Awesome, awesome weddings you guys!

This past month! (October 11, 2006)
Wow -it has been a while since I posted! We are about to wrap up a month-long recording project with one of my old school buddies...Matt Reynolds and his wife Shannon. They are missionaries who are relocating to Calcutta India next year. Matt is also a gifted songwriter, so we wanted to make sure and get his project completed before they leave. We have some video of the work here at the studio and previews of the songs which we will be sharing. Amber and Kee had a wonderful wedding on September 30th (piano for ceremony at Highlands Baptist Church and DJ reception at the Campbelhouse) and Rebekah and Ben also had a nice reception (DJ) at the Marriott last weekend (Oct 7). I have lots of photos and video from recent events, but things are so busy that I haven't been able to edit them yet...maybe November when things slow down? :=) This past Sunday evening (Oct 8), Frank and Paige had the perfect wedding and reception at the Bodley Bullock house. There is some sensational footage I'd like to share from it as well. Dave Hall played sax with me (piano and sax duo), DaRae provided catering, and Mr. Frank Becker was the photographer. This was my first time working with Frank which was a blast. Frank has a great light-hearted personality which seems to open people up. And it never hurts having a beautiful location and perfect weather! More to share...make an appointment to stop by for a consultation...

Congrats to Jennifer and Craig! (September 23, 2006)
Sometimes even the best of plans don't work out. It is always a great idea to have a backup plan in case of inclimate weather. There was a tent set up on the property, but with all the rain we've had the past couple of days, everything was just too soggy. Although we had to have it all inside the house, it was still a fabulous wedding. On a personal note, I've never seen a wedding coordinator work this hard...Emilie Duncan goes the extra mile for her clients. Alicia DeBoor also provided some assistance. Catering by Donna provided a fabulous meal and Angela Anderson was their official photographer. Enjoy these photos (these are just my little point and shoot...Angela's will be much better!)

Baby Grand Piano for Sale (September 10, 2006)
The church where I play every week is selling their baby grand piano. It is a Yamaha G1, black gloss finish. Price is $5,500. This would make a great addition to the living room for any of you getting ready to move into your new home. After it has had a chance to settle for a couple of weeks in your house, I will come and tune it for you. John Young is the chairman of the finance committee and can tell you more about it if you want to visit the church and look at it. view page »

Missing Emails! (September 09, 2006)
Several people mentioned that they sent me e-mails or replies this past week, but they never showed up here. God only knows where they went! ***U-R-G-E-N-T***...if you sent me a message and didn't receive a reply, please pick up the phone and call me so I know you are trying to reach me. Thanks! -Kev

Lost a good videographer! (September 06, 2006)
I spoke with Cydil last night(www.ahweddings.com). Nathan and she are going to be going through the process of conducting an international adoption in Albania next year. The timeline is really up in the air...at some point, they will have to make some trips overseas. The last thing they wanted to do is contact someone six weeks before their wedding to tell them they can't be there to record their special day. So they are putting their wedding business on hold for at least a year. As soon as they are ready again, we will let you know and add them back to the vendor directory. Nathan and Cydil were just fantastic and now the Lexington area is really running short on good videographers! If you know of anyone I should add to the directory, please send me more info so we can tell everyone about them. Thanks so much! -Kev view page »

A few new testimonials came in this week. Hopefully can come up for air soon and update this web site :-) Have a fantastic week everyone! -kev

Latin Jazz Quintet (July 26, 2006)
It is such a pleasure to get to work with some of the finest musicians around. We put together a latin jazz salsa quintet for Stephanie and Ben's wedding reception at Headley this past weekend. Tripp Bratton was on percussion, Bob Bryant on bass, Gordon Towell on sax, Dave Farris on drums, and I was on keys. We played during the cocktail hour and dinner. We were having such a good time and just when things started to turn magical we had to cut the cake and go into the DJ service :-( Wish I had recorded this gig.

Relaxed! (July 18, 2006)
Working for Matt and Stephanie was a treat...their reception was so relaxed -not stuffy! It was held at Talon on July 15th. Annette's catering did BBQ, potatoe salad etc. There were also some lawn games for the kids and adults. We capped off the evening by doing a group circle at the end of the event to Over the Rainbow.

Trends (July 11, 2006)
Some trends that are becoming popular this year are (1) Origami, (2) Wineries, (3) Salsa/latin music, and (4) The Hawaiian version of Over the Rainbow :-) -kev

Chrisman Mill Winery (July 11, 2006)
Ashley and Drew were married this past Saturday at Chrisman Mill Winery in Nicholasville. This is a really neat venue to work at. They just recently built a little area to have a wedding ceremony on the property (will be posting photos and putting up a page for them in the vendor directory). The built-in catering at Chrisman is fantastic. If you have more info about them, please e-mail me and will add it to their page. If you'd like to see more photos from this event, give me a buzz if you'd like to stop by the house and look at them. Best -kev

Rachel and Shayne! (July 01, 2006)
Rachel and Shayne were married at the Marriott Mansion on June 24, 2006. Kevin played piano for the ceremony. A wonderful vocalist sang (www.erikagrahamgaines.com). Kevin Dj'd the first part of the reception and the Velvet Bombers played the 2nd half ( www.velvetbombers.com).

Marriott Pavilion (June 18, 2006)
Christy and Dave were married on Saturday at Good Shepherd and their reception was held at the Marriott Pavilion. Tiffany was coordinating for the Marriott (excellent job) and Weddings by Angela provided photography services. I loved the way they had the room set up this time...they had purple skirts on the tables, some accent lighting, and the head table at the end of the tent worked much better. Drop me a line if you'd like to stop by and see some more photos from this event...best, -Kev

Congrats to Jason and Anne! (June 12, 2006)
What a cool venue for a wedding ceremony and reception! Have several neat photos from Jason and Anne's wedding coming soon. Cheers, Kev

Congrats! (June 05, 2006)
Congrats to this weekend's couples...Caleb and Sarah (Spindeltop reception) and Chase and Sara (Wedding ceremony)!

A Flood of New Photos! (May 28, 2006)
Just posted some new photos from this weekend...Bodley Bullock (Claire and Michael's wedding), Boyd Orchards, Gratz Park, The Versailles Road Castle, Pisgah Church, and Wallace Station. If you'd like to see larger photos of any of these, give me a buzz so we can set up a time for you to drop by for a few minutes. Best, -Kev

Woodford County Locations (May 25, 2006)
A couple I met with a few days ago is having their reception at Boyd Orchard in the fall. I went out there yesterday but forgot to take my camera :-( If you are looking for a neat casual venue -it is worth looking into. They also have a playground which would be useful to keep the kids busy! It is also close to Pisgah Presbyterian Church and the Castle on Versailles Road. Best -kev

Email issues... (May 17, 2006)
It seems about 1 out of 4 e-mails is actually getting through for those of you with Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, and AOL. If you haven't received a reply to one of your messages, please let me know you are trying to reach me -thanks so much! Insight cable is still having issues after more than a week :-( If you need to reach me or have any questions, please feel free to call my personal cell at 859.536.8245 -Thanks! -kev

Fabulous Weekend! (May 10, 2006)
Lots of new photos from this past weekend (see the Bell House and Campbelhouse pages). On Friday our jazz quintet played at Keeneland. On Saturday worked for two really neat couples -both had several different nationalities represented at their weddings. I'm always fascinated at different cultures! P.S. Insight cable is still not delivering many Yahoo, Hotmail, and G-mail messages. If you have e-mailed me this past week from one of those, please use your ISP e-mail address or call me on the cell (859-536-8245) if you didn't get a response to your question(s). Hopefully Insight will correct this problem soon! -Kev

St. Raphael's Church (February 19, 2006)
Located on Parker's Mill Rd (just a couple of miles from the Campbelhouse). St. Raphael's is a smaller church (very pretty) and would be a good choice for smaller weddings. Sally Boelter is the minister out there. Richard (one of the bass players I use ocassionally with our jazz groups) is her husband. By the way, you can find other musicians in the area and Richard on the /musician page on this site. There are lots of violinists, harpists, and other pianists phone numbers, etc. If you need recommendations for a particular group or styles of music that aren't my specialty, I'll be happy help you sort through the list. There are currently over 600 musicians in the database! view page »
