Came across another wedding vocalist yesterday -Ryan Colliver out of Richmond. He does a nice rendition of Josh Groban's You Raise Me Up. His info should be in the database soon and hope to have an audio clip available. Some other wedding singers who would do a good job for you are Cheryl Tolbert, Casey Mays, and also Bill Earnest. Drop me a line if you'd like more info about any of these vocalists.

Wedding vocalist (Jan. 10th, 2006)
Cheryl Tolbert will be singing some specials at my church this coming Sunday (Jan 15th) and we are doing a special song during the prelude before the service starts. She is a veteran school teacher from New Orleans who relocated to Lexington after Katrina hit this past year. Let me tell you guys and gals...Cheryl is one outstanding vocalist! She would do a wonderful job for your wedding ceremony. You can hire her direct if you prefer (see /musician on this site) or I can hire her for us as part of your jazz quartet or quintet. She is also a voice instructor, classically trained, and can do traditional wedding songs for you. Services begin this Sunday at 9:30 and 10:45. Don't miss this GREAT opportunity to meet Cheryl! Follow the link if you need directions to the church. Many of you have asked why I never do the bridal shows...they always seem to be held on Sundays :-(

New Year's Eve 2005 (Jan. 3rd, 2006)
I just listened to a little bit of the recording we made from Casie and Ryan's wedding on New Year's Eve. Their reception was held at the original Hunt Morgan house (on North Broadway). I think you're gonna dig it! We had a lot of fun playing at this reception! In addition the jazz and blues we typically do, we also did a couple of motown covers. It was a real pleasure working for Casie and Ryan. Stay tuned for those audio clips!

Well crafted lines (Dec. 23, 2005)
Figures! The one night I don't record a live gig this month, it turns out beautiful! Dave Anderson was one of my jazz instructors when I was studying at Morehead State. We played a duo gig tonight at a family Christmas party in here in Lexington. Dave played some really nice melodic lines on tenor sax, clarinet, and flute. I only wish I had recorded this particular gig so we could share a taste of it with you.
Is January here yet? :-) (Dec. 17, 2005)
Wow! You guys have all been amazing! For more than two weeks, I have had at least one gig every day, and sometimes two or three. It has been an amazing time, although it seems the flu has caught up with me! :-( I'm very thankful for all the work, but also looking forward to January when things slow down and we can work on some scheduled studio projects! We recorded several Christmas events these past couple of weeks, so we'll be sure to post those audio clips when time permits. Have a *great* Christmas and New Year's everyone! -Kev

Need a balloon drop for New Year's? (Dec. 7, 2005)
I came across this company last weekend while DJ'ing a company Christmas party at the Marriott. They do great balloon drops. Pricing is roughly 80 cents a balloon and they recommend at least 300 balloons to get a good effect. This would make a great addition to your New Year's eve party!

For their grand introduction of the wedding party, we used a montage of some of my horse farm photos (see www.kynature.com) and a version of My Old Kentucky Home as sung by Louis Armstrong. Congrats to last week's couples! (Aug. 16, 2005)
Last weekend was just fantastic! On Friday Aug 12th, Bill & Gwen served up some non-traditional wedding reception music with a lot of great oldies and 80s that you normally wouldn't hear at a reception such as Level 42, Bob Marley, the Archies and others. As a DJ, it was quite refreshing to be able to play these songs. Their reception was held at the Campbelhouse. Then on Saturday 13th, I played piano outside the ballroom for Will and Esmari at the Radisson during the cocktail hour, and while guests greeted them at the ballroom door. Many of the guests were from South Africa and the crowd was quite energetic! We covered a variety of music with my DJ service including some salsa, Squirrel Nut Zippers. They danced ALL night long. Another very refreshing event. I am truly blessed to have some of the best customers. Martine did the cake. Always yummy. Life is good. Sometimes magical. This Saturday the 20th, I'm playing keys with Lil Stevie at the Pops in the Park event at White Hall in Richmond. Have a *great* week!

Married on June 18, 2005 at the Cumberland Inn in Williamsburg, Joshua and Rebekah had a picturesque wedding! The Inn has a huge double staircase, lots of windows...it was just beautiful. Gabe DiMartino (Chicago trumpeteer), Elizabeth Farr (Knoxville Symphony harpist), and myself on piano provide the ceremony music. A great combination. Our jazz quartet provided the reception music.
